Did You Know?
Project management takes more than just effective planning... it takes resources! Delta Services is equipped to mobilize dedicated crews, with specific application expertise and specialized equipment, to meet every one of your project demands.
Built-Up Roofs
Premium Shingles deliver quality, performance and style. Laminated Fiberglas® Shingles are created by bonding two asphalt shingles together, giving them added thickness and a distinct three-dimensional appearance. Delta Services offers a variety of shingle choices for every architectural style.
While Standard Shingles don't necessarily meet every roofing requirement, no one product is necessarily the best for every job. The right product should be based on local wind conditions, fire ratings and aesthetics. Three-Tab Fiberglas® Shingles are the roofing industry's standard for shingle quality.
Delta Services can provide both standard and premium quality shingles, depending on your needs.
Garden Roofs
There are four factors which determine whether you can re-roof over an existing roof: local building codes; the condition of the framing beneath the existing roof; the fastening anchorage that the existing deck will provide; and the condition of the surface on which the new roofing will be applied.
If the old roof is unacceptably deteriorated, the manufacturer will not honor their warranty. Proper installation is essential to roofing system performance. All manufacturers recommend the use of roofing felt.
Valleys and eaves are a weak point in your roofing system. They should be protected with metal or premium roofing felt, according to manufacturer's specifications and industry standards. Valleys should be installed with one-cut shingles, in a closed valley system. If valleys are installed properly, they'll last the life of your roof. If they are built incorrectly, they will have to be torn out and installed correctly.
We make sure your roofing shingles are installed with the proper nailing pattern. The manufacturer's warranty is voided if the shingles are not nailed down properly. Galvanized roofing fasteners should be used -- four per shingle on typical installations, six per shingle on steeper roofs.
Adequate ventilation should be designed and installed if necessary. Again, your manufacturer's warranty is void if the specified ventilation is not provided for your roof. Poor ventilation also can result in peeling paint, mildew, dry rot, insulation problems, and warped framing members. As professional roofers, we know how to best ventilate your particular home, in both summer and winter. We will discuss with you, the merits of power vs. passive systems, and explain how humidistats and thermostats operate.

Single Ply
In the early 70's, a highly successful single ply roof membrane hit the roofing market and BUR met some high tech competition. Its name is EPDM or more commonly called a rubber roof. EPDM is a rubber membrane whose principal components consist of Ethylene and Propylene.
A flexible rubber matrix forms when a small amount of Diene is added to the mix. At first EPDM membranes were used as pond liners, but it didn't take long before the roofing industry saw its value and created a high tech, high quality roof membrane. Delta Services has installed hundreds of acres of EPDM roof membranes from fully adhered, mechanically attached to ballasted (loose rock) EPDM roof systems. The principle advantages to EPDM are that it is lightweight, unaffected by standing water and surpass the test of time for superior longevity. There is also very little odor and mess, which is appealing to building owners and occupants.
In particular, Delta Services prefers Firestone Building Products for EPDM roof systems. We believe Firestone manufacturers a superior EPDM product as well as related insulation boards, sheet metal, fasteners and glue applicants for EPDM systems. Firestone is a name we can all trust and Delta Services has been an experienced installer of all of Firestone's roof membranes for over 20 years.
